NASA and Google are looking for a few good citizen scientists and NASA explorers for two, nation-wide experiments! You can participate in two ways: by collecting cloud and air temperature data and reporting it to NASA via your cell phone. And, with UC Berkely and Google by taking a picture of the eclipse as part of the Eclipse Megamovie 2017.
Become a Citizen Explorer with NASA:
Called The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment, or GLOBE, Program, this experiment is a NASA-supported research and education program that encourages students and citizen scientists to collect and analyze environmental observations. GLOBE Observer is a free, easy-to-use app that guides citizen scientists through data collection, and a great introduction to the science of astronomy for children of all ages! Learn more about it here.
Become a Citizen Scientist with Google:
Join us in this first-of-its-kind citizen science project, gathering scientifically valuable data from the total solar eclipse that will traverse North America on August 21, 2017, and then compiling it into a mega-movie! Get more information on MegaMovie here.
